Lexington’s Paul Steidler was quoted in a story in Townhall regarding the shortcomings of the United States Postal Service despite numerous attempts at congressional reform. Steidler referenced a misleading projection produced by the United States Postal Service in 2021, which asserted that the postal service would break even within ten years. Steidler pointed out the disparity between the Postal Service’s projection two years ago and the results that have followed. As of May 2023, USPS expects to lose $70 billion in that same ten-year timeframe.
The article corroborates Steidler’s criticism of USPS, stating: “A $70 billion accounting error would lead any rational member of the board of directors of a Fortune 500 company to start firing decision-makers and implement a serious strategy change.”
