Why The U.S. Marines Amphibious Combat Vehicle Program Works (From The National Interest)

May 2, 2017May 3, 2017Daniel Gouré, Ph.D.

The Marine Corps Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) program is an example of smart procurement focused on meeting critical near-term modernization requirements. Based on its experience in the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle program, which pushed the boundaries of technology, the Marine Corps has chosen a lower-risk path based on deliberate incremental modernization. As a consequence, Marine riflemen will soon get better and more affordable vehicles while preserving the option for an advanced ACV 2.0.  I have written about the Marine Corp program for The National Interest here.
