Lexington’s Paul Steidler was quoted in an editorial from the Norfolk Daily News (Norfolk, NE) on the president’s recent executive order to protect the United States’ bulk-power system.
Extensively referencing Steidler’s May 27 InsideSources op-ed, the editorial highlights the the increased dependence of the U.S. power system on non-domestic suppliers, leaving it vulnerable to attack, and thus the necessity of the executive order. “The crux of the order is to require a rigorous review of suppliers and the development of a pre-qualified vendor list. In addition, now prohibited equipment already in use is to be identified, isolated, monitored and, if necessary, replaced,” said Steidler. “This will also provide a stimulus for the U.S. economy,” he added.
