Mail Delivery Slowdown Begins Friday Across United States (From KDFW-TV, Fox Affiliate, Dallas-Fort Worth, TX)

Lexington’s Paul Steidler was quoted in a KDFW-TV story on the slowdown of Postal Service mail delivery. “It’s a terrible idea. It’s going to make mail delivery slower than it has been since the 1970’s,” said Steidler. He added: “It is not going to save a lot of money at the Postal Service and it’s going to drive lots of people away from using the mail.”

Steidler also pointed out that the Postal Service has tried slowdowns before. “In 2014 it said we’re going to reduce standards so that we can meet those standards because of lower mail volume and it never met those standards and never realized the cost-savings that it said it was going to have,” he said.
