Lockheed’s Proposed Aerojet Rocketdyne Purchase Sets Early M&A Test for Biden (From Defense One)

Lexington’s Loren Thompson was quoted in Defense One’s recent article discussing the potential consequences of the Biden administration’s approval or disapproval of the planned acquisition of Aerojet Rocketdyne by Lockheed Martin for $4.4 billion. Lockheed’s acquisition of Aerojet would create more competition for solid rocket motors, said Thompson.

In a December 21 piece in Forbes, he likewise wrote that “Aerojet Rocketdyne will now have the same kind of financial resources to draw on as Orbital did when it joined Northrop, assuring that both domestic suppliers of large solids can remain active in military and civilian markets.”
