Despite Trump’s Tough Talk, No Boost for Missile Defense Agency (Foreign Policy)

Lexington Institute’s Loren Thompson is quoted in Lara Seligman’s “Despite Trump’s Tough Talk, No Boost for Missile Defense Agency,” for Foreign Policy. “There is no plan to actively defend the United States against a large-scale nuclear attack launched by Russia or China,” he said. The U.S. is relying on “offensively based deterrence,” Thompson explained, adding that the spending increase taking place will be “more money to regional defense than defense of the U.S. homeland.”
